Maybe you foolishly fixed a problem, corrected some misinformation in a meeting, or had the nerve to try and enforce a rule. If so, there is a chance you might know something about workplace retaliation.
About 15% of workers will suffer some sort of retaliation this year. 64% of those workers said they were excluded from a decision or activity, 62% were given the cold shoulder or verbally abused by management, and a shocking 31% reported harm to their property or person.
Workplace retaliation goes away when people have better alternatives to deal with their frustrations and the skills to stand up for themselves without bringing more intensity into the conflict.
